The Cranleigh breakfast is amongst the finest anywhere in the Lake District and we are proud to be able to say that we source locally, wherever possible.

You are most welcome to help yourself to the selection of cereals, freshly cooked Danish pastries, artisan bread, cheese and meat, fruit juices, yoghurts and fruit salad from the extensive selection on our buffet table. In addition, we also serve:

Farrer's Italian Blend Coffee*
A blend of Arabicab coffee, roasted to a full high roast giving a full bodied result.
Farrer's Decaffeinated Coffee*
Columbian bean with the caffeine extracted by the Swiss water method, then roasted to a continental roast to produce a strong smooth drink.
Farrer's Lakeland Special Blend Tea
Specially blended for the waters of the Lake District.

Please order your drinks at reception which can be consumed either in your room, in our guest lounge or outside in the garden.
Please note that we do not have facilities for lunch or evening dining at the Cranleigh. However, we are situated in the centre of the village of Bowness-on-Windermere and have an excellent selection of restaurants on our doorstep. Within walking distance, there is much to offer, but these are some of our particular recommendations:
Pub - The Village Inn (1 minute walk)
A modern pub with a relaxed and lively atmosphere, serving a good selection of traditional favourite’s such as fish and chips.
Pub - The Angel (5 minute walk)
Family owned and serving light bites or a fuller menu throughout the day. There is a choice of areas in which to dine, from the relaxing lounges, conservatory and restaurant to the terraced garden on warmer days.
Fine Dining - Porto (1 minute walk)
A more refined dining experience can be enjoyed at the Porto. Enjoy freshly prepared food, using locally-sourced ingredients from the best regional suppliers.
Fine Dining - The Old England (2 minute walk)
Savour speciality dishes and fine wines at The Old England’s award-winning Number 23 Church Street Restaurant. For a less formal dining experience, the Terrace Coffee Lounge & Cocktail Bar also offers views across the gardens to the lake.
Fine Dining - Miller Howe (5 minute taxi ride)
Excellent food, professional service and a stunning location. As you dine, you can enjoy the wonderful views of Lake Windermere and the majestic Langdale Pikes.
Fine Dining - Gilpin Lodge (10 minute taxi ride)
Their wonderful restaurant serves traditional British flavours in a light, imaginative way with a menu that celebrates some of the finest Lake District produce and West Coast seafood.
Fish- Hooked (25 minute walk/ 5 minute taxi ride)
The area’s only dedicated fish restaurant serving seafood with flavours & influences from the Mediterranean, South East Asia & Australasia. The menu changes daily depending on availability and local fish supplier West Coast Seafood.
Italian - The Villa Positano (1 minute walk)
A friendly, family run restaurant with an excellent menu and featuring daily specials.
Italian - Giottos (25 minute walk/ 5 minute taxi ride)
A lovely restaurant with a lively atmosphere and delicious Italian specialties.
Indian - Mela Spice Fusion (1.5 minute walk)
A varied menu, with the staff delighted to guide you through the menu and choices available.
Chinese - The China Boat (3.5 minute walk)
The first cantonese restaurant to open in the area, and still a popular choice.
Chinese - Jade Delight (7 minute walk)
Chinese food at very reasonable prices. There is a good choice on the menu and some value banquet options.
Thai Cuisine - Jintana (7 minute walk)
A taste of Thailand, with original Thai furnishings and authentic cuisine, prepared by Thai chefs.
