Upgrade Galore at The Cranleigh Boutique

Emily Hadfield - Thursday, October 13, 2016

It has been an exciting time at The Cranleigh Boutique, with substantial refurbishments occurring throughout the hotel. Standard Room 4, Superior Room 2 and the Sanctuary Suite have all had magnificent makeovers, making Cranleigh Boutique accommodation even more luxurious than before. To gain further insight into the changes that have been happening at The Cranleigh, we briefly interviewed the owner, Stephen Hargreaves.

Why the sudden refurb?

S: It has been 10 years since the unique Cranleigh Brand came to The Lake District, and although we constantly update our rooms so they don't look tired, it was time for certain rooms to have a drastic makeover. A lot has changed in 10 years and we had to modernise, as well as listen and adapt to the change in customer tastes and preferences.

What was your ultimate aim?

S: The ultimate aim was to make each room and suite a warm and inviting space which feels special, and far from the standard hotel room or suite in The Lake District. I took into account the feedback I received from customers for truly desirable accommodation.

Why did you choose the materials you did?

S: It's all about quality. The new fabrics and wallpapers have come from top, respected designers.

What is your favourite aspect of the upgraded rooms?

S: I love how the space has changed and works in a different way from before. The rooms are much more customer friendly as they have been decorated to encourage relaxation.

The Sanctuary Suite has changed quite a lot. Why is this?

S: The clue is in the name. This suite has to ooze privacy and indulgence and be the perfect escape for couples who want to retreat to the countryside for a luxurious getaway. Therefore, The Sanctuary Suite has to be modern, inviting and embody a warm atmosphere.
