As many of you will have seen on the news over the past week, some parts of Cumbria were affected by the heavy rains and flooding as a result of Storm
Desmond, particularly the northern part of the county. Our thoughts go out to all those who have been badly caught up in this unfortunate event.
Very luckily, we are extremely pleased to report that we managed to escape any damage and all three of our accommodation offerings – the Cranleigh Boutique
, the Boutique Church Suites
and the Hideout House
– are all operating normally and open for
business! Large parts of the national park are unaffected and this is a message that both we and operators and suppliers across the Lake District
would very much like to reiterate. Normal services have resumed and we welcome you to join us!
Christmas in the Lake District is a magical time of year, with many events taking place in the run up to the big day! Cumbria Tourism, who have been
proactively pushing the ‘Cumbria is open for business’ campaign, have listed a number of exciting activities and initiatives available for everyone
in the coming weeks. You can find further information on these by clicking on this link: https://www.cumbriatourism.org/cumbria-is-open-for-business-and-we-invite-you-to-join-us/
We would urge you to reconsider if you are thinking about cancelling a trip to the Lake District this side of Christmas. We are a very hospitable county
and love to see the millions of visitors to the area every year. Your visit will also boost the local economy which relies heavily on tourism.
Most importantly, the Lake District looks beautiful at this time of the year – we’d love to share our stunning environment with you!
