Afternoon Tea in the Lakes

Graham Hadaway - Monday, April 08, 2013

The Lake District has some of the best places to enjoy a truly traditional afternoon tea.

Having afternoon tea can be a real treat, it’s definitely not something we do at home. (Unless perhaps you live in a Palace?) We have some of the most beautiful buildings overlooking the stunning Lake District and of course Lake Windermere where you can enjoy a delicious feast of scrumptious sandwiches, cakes and scones,

Afternoon Tea

Here are our top 3 places to go for an amazing afternoon tea treat:

The Samling

The extensive grounds and woodland are dotted with well-chosen contemporary works of art complementing the mood of each part of the garden. The Samling has spectacular scenery and breathtaking views around every corner. A highlight has to be the chocolate orange tea!

Holbeck Ghyll

Watch the elegant yachts and the steamers plying their trade up and down Lake Windermere as you take in the stunning scenery while sipping your favourite blend of tea, and nibbling on fine selection of finger sandwiches and enjoying the dainty cakes.

Miller Howe

It is set in five and a half acres of beautiful grounds in the heart of the English Lake District overlooking the shores of Lake Windermere. Built as a private residence in 1916, today Miller Howe offers a delicious afternoon tea with unforgettable views.

If the idea of Afternoon Tea on your next visit takes your fancy let us know and we will make your reservation.
