Considered one of the most haunted castles in the UK, Muncaster Castle
is a mecca for those that
like stories about things going ‘bump in the night’! This week, there are events taking place all week, with plenty to entertain those of all ages.
There are crafts for the kids, ghostly group tours, fearsome fire juggling, a cannon blowout and their very own scary maze! With the assistance of
the drama department at the University of Cumbria, visitors will be thrown into a live theatre experience!

Visitor Centre in Windermere
is a free event and perfect for all ages. Their volunteers will be in the bird hide to help you identify the birds and animals in the woodland surrounding
. No need to book; just turn up and enjoy!
Beautiful Arts & Crafts property, ‘Blackwell
’, has been celebrating Big Draw - the world's
largest drawing festival, which finishes on 31st October. This year's activity is inspired by the exhibition, The Baillie Scott Folio: House for an
Art Lover, on display until 31 December, 2015. Visitors of all ages can draw their own House to compete in an online drawing competition. Blackwell
will post all works of art on their Facebook page and the picture with the most likes will win a prize!
Windermere Bonfire night and fireworks display
Did you know that Bonfire Night, otherwise known as Guy Fawkes Night, used to be a compulsory celebration in England up until 1859? No pressure to attend
this event, but it does come highly recommended and we all love a bonfire and fireworks! Looking ahead to November, the Windermere Rugby Union family
bonfire night and fireworks display features a BBQ, food and refreshments with the bonfire lit at 6:30pm and fireworks from 7pm. Admission is just
£5 or £10 for a family ticket. Sparklers at the ready!
