It’s been 3 years in September since we purchased the Cranleigh Hotel. It has been an incredible journey. When purchased, the Cranleigh was only a 2 star hotel. We have worked endlessly to create 18 of the most luxurious rooms in the Lake District. We have been accredited 5 Star Highly Commended with the AA and 5 Star Gold with Visit Britain. These awards are the highest any guesthouse can achieve. Our focus has always been to create an experience that our customers will want to come back to in a perfect location close to the main village of Bowness-on-Windermere and the Lake.

We have just launched our new website that we have been working on for 4 months and we hope we have created something really special and different. On the new site there are videos showing all our rooms in detail including a general video of the area around the Cranleigh, places to see, things to do and restaurants to be enjoyed. We are trying to set a new standard in Bowness-on-Windermere and we feel that our new website is doing just that.

The Sanctuary Suite, which is our premier suite, is in our opinion the most luxurious retreat in the Lake District, offering outstanding in-room facilities that are not usually found in a hotel room. We have had 14 couples celebrate their engagement so far this year in this room.

We have just recently taken on a new Manager, Emma Johnson, and is a member of the family. Emma is from an IT background and was looking for a change in career and will be working endlessly to keep the high standards we have achieved at the Cranleigh and to continue to provide our customers with what they deserve. Tony and Barbara who have managed the Cranleigh from day one will be leaving us in September and we thank them for their dedication and hard work – everyone will miss you.
